OpEd: I Want a Season of The Bachelor with 2 Male Leads

Why has there never been a season of the Bachelor that starts with two main leads? First the franchise pitted Kaitlyn Bristowe and Britt Nelson against each other on the 11th season of the bachelorette. Then most recently they decided to do two Bachelorettes for the entire season with Gabi and Rachel. In both of these situations, I found the execution of the two bachelorette/double lead concept to be awful. I feel like they delicately crafted each situation to make the women feel as insecure and vulnerable as possible. I understand that they did this to up the entertainment factor, but I honestly think the season would have benefited off of offering both Gabi and Rachel more support/relief. Overall, it honestly seems like a clear double standard knowing that they have never even tried to pull anything even remotely similar for a season of The Bachelor. Why are the women always the ones being put in the most uncomfortable situations?

Do you want a double-lead Bachelor Season?

  • Yes

  • No

I would personally love to see two men being forced to deal with the awkward interactions, vulnerabilities, and insecurities that a double-lead season presents. However, I don’t know if the producers would ever be willing to make that move. Especially, because it would definitely have to be a pair of guys with the right chemistry, story arch, and level of emotional maturity to handle the whole process. Either way, I think the network should find a way to make it happen. If a double-lead season of the Bachelor were to happen, comment down below what two men from Bachelor Nation you would want to see as leads!

I'd personally love Tyler Cameron and Tyler Norris, I just really enjoy the concept of a 'Two' Tylers seaon.
